I sat back down in my lounge chair and grabbed my laptop that rested next to my glass of wine.<\/p><p>\u201cWhat or who got you grinning so hard,\u201d Ra asked causing the blood to drain from my face.<\/p><p>\u201cThat would be me,\u201d Amare said coming into view. I pushed him away, and he grinned before running his hands through my hair and messing it up.<\/p><p>\u201cAss,\u201d I said as he flopped down on the other lounge chair.<\/p><p>\u201cWell, I guess that is my cue. Make bad choices!\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cRa!\u201d I yelled as the video ended. My lips poked out before I kissed my teeth and shut down my computer. Amare let out a chuckle. \u201cI don\u2019t know what you find funny.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cChill with that sass. I\u2019m here for my date.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cWhat date?\u201d<\/p><p>He cleared his throat. \u201c\u2018Winner has permission to make the next move\u2019,\u201d he mocked me and I cackled.<\/p><p>\u201cI did not sound like that!\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cYou did, but it was hot. So,\u201d a lopsided grin graced his face. \u201cI hope you don\u2019t have plans for tonight because they\u2019re canceled.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cActually,\u201d I pulled my mouth to the side. \u201cMy favorite web series got a new episode coming out tonight so\u2026\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cWow. It\u2019s like that?\u201d<\/p><p>I shrugged. \u201cJust like that.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cA bet is a bet. You owe me a date. A real one. You in or what?\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cLike now?\u201d I asked drawing my eyebrows together as I grabbed my glass of wine.<\/p><p>\u201cI said tonight. Why are you stalling?\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cI\u2019m not.\u201d I headed over to my balcony railing. \u201cBut you know I can\u2019t up and go somewhere. Not by myself anyway and&#8211;\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cYou wanna spend time with me or not? All you talk about is feeling trapped. Well let\u2019s go.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cIt\u2019s not that simple.\u201d<\/p><p>He frowned. \u201cYou don\u2019t want it to be. Ain\u2019t nothing stopping you from walking up outta here but you. What they gonna do? Stop you?\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cNot stop me but do their job and follow me.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cWell lucky you, I\u2019m good at losing people. Are we going or we staying in? Either way, I\u2019m spending at minimum the next twelve hours with you.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cExcuse me?\u201d My eyes widened.<\/p><p>\u201cI know Sam is out of town. I ain\u2019t got shit to do so that makes me all yours for the rest of the night.\u201d My bottom lip fell into its comfort zone between my teeth. Something told me he was serious about not leaving. I couldn\u2019t say I\u2019d mind. He grabbed my arm and pulled me out of my thoughts. \u201cLet me show you my world.\u201d<\/p><p>A small sigh escaped my mouth as I released my bottom lip. \u201cFine.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cGood. Lead the way.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cI need to change first.\u201d A simple all white Fila mesh short set adorned my body, and I didn&#8217;t see it as first date worthy.<\/p><p>\u201cYou look beautiful. Grab a jacket and we can go.\u201d<\/p><p>My eyes rolled, but I smiled and grabbed a denim jacket and cross-body bag before heading out of my room.<\/p><p>As soon as we stepped foot downstairs, Mo was rounding the corner. Shit. I\u2019d hoped we could make it out without being seen. \u201cI\u2019m heading out.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cAll right. Let me get Ray.\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cOkay, we\u2019ll be out front.\u201d We stepped outside the front door to where the roundabout was with the cars parked. \u201cHow do you plan to lose them?\u201d<\/p><p>He looked at me with a smirk and then nodded towards something. My eyes followed and landed on a motorcycle causing me to squeak. \u201cYou gotta motorcycle?\u201d<\/p><p>\u201cIt was a gift from G. By gift, I mean he forced it on me once my whip jumped to its death.\u201d I chuckled as he pulled out a helmet. \u201cWe shouldn\u2019t have a problem losing the extra weight.\u201d He pulled me closer to him as he placed it on to my head. \u201cYou scared?\u201d He tightened the strap under my chin before he turned around to get onto the bike.<\/p><p>Nerves washed over me but disappeared. Amare had made me feel safe since the first day we met and that hadn\u2019t change. I smiled at him as I held his hand to steady myself. \u201cNo.\u201d I swung my leg over and got comfortable behind him. Ray and Mo walked out and got into their SUV.<\/p><p>\u201cOkay so first things first,\u201d Amare said bringing my attention to him. \u201cHold on to me and keep your body neutral. You don\u2019t have to lean. If you want me to slow down, tell me or tap my shoulder. Okay?\u201d He looked over his shoulders at me. I loved the way he looked at me.<\/p><p>\u201cI got it. Just make sure you lose them.\u201d He nodded and revved up the engine and I wrapped my arms around him.
